PhD Student
My curiosity about seizure detection and biomedical technologies began when my sister had a febrile seizure. This experience motivated me to pursue college at an early age. I studied biology and physics as part of the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted at Mary Baldwin University. My academic journey deepened through research experiences at Johns Hopkins University and Virginia Commonwealth University, where I explored the material properties of soft biomaterials. My research interests now center on designing and fabricating soft, flexible microelectronics, focusing on neurological disorders like seizures—the field that initially inspired my path into biomedical engineering. I plan to explore this further during my PhD in the Viventi Lab. Outside of my research, I embrace a wide range of hobbies such as exploring various art forms including painting, writing poetry, and dancing along with spending time in nature, roller skating, and thrifting.
