Human Research

We take a multidisciplinary approach that combines basic science, clinical research, and engineering to understanding the workings of the human brain.  We use high density/high channel count electrodes and advanced data analytic techniques to study the brain in both health and disease.  Our basic science work examines neural systems and cognition broadly, and speech and language more narrowly.  Our clinical research focuses on the neural underpinnings of epilepsy.  We work primarily with patients undergoing surgery for pharmacologically resistant epilepsy, but we will be expanding our research to include other patients.
